Fitness and Food Used for Energy and Life, Inc, (F².U.E.L) is an integrated nutrition and fitness company committed to taking the guesswork out of living a healthy life. We provide clients with the healthy meals, personal training and fitness education, and constant motivation and support that is key to staying on track and achieving their health and fitness objectives.

What's the point of eating food that isn't fresh? F².U.E.L meals are prepared each morning in our kitchen by our Executive Chef. This ensures that each meal is fresh and delicious when it is delivered.

Since our meals are prepared locally every day, we can deliver them to our clients each morning in time for breakfast. Providing fresh, healthy meals at the start of the day helps to ensure that our clients eat healthy throughout the entire day and don't skip meals or substitute a healthy meal with an unhealthy snack.

F².U.E.L was founded and is actively managed by a group of personal trainers with experience helping people lose weight, build muscle, and convert body mass. As a result, F².U.E.L knows what nutrition and fitness steps need to be taken to achieve those or any other goals. Meals and workout plans are completely customized by our Registered Dietician and Fitness Director for each client's health goals.

Each client fills out a general information survey when they start the program to alert the kitchen and training staff of any allergies or health concerns. We also know that everyone has different tastes. To accommodate personal preferences, ingredients can be substituted or deleted from meals at no charge.

F².U.E.L provides clients with up to four meals each day rather than the traditional "three square meals" for two important reasons. The first is to maximize usable calories in the body. The average human needs between 1500-2000 calories per day to function optimally. In a three meal system, each meal must have 500-700 calories in order to deliver this calorie intake. Since it is hard for the body to metabolize this much food at one time, we advise a four meal system. A four meal system ensures that the body receives 300-500 calories every three to four hours, allowing more energy(calories) to be used and less converted to body fat. In a three meal system, clients often go six hours without eating, causing dips and peaks in blood sugar that result in fatigue and slowed fitness progress. Therefore, eating every three to four hours helps maintain a high metabolic rate - meaning that food is used for energy rather than stored as bodyfat.

We pride ourselves in the flexibility of our program. You may order as many as four meals per day or as little as one. However, we do have a $21 minimum delivery charge. If your meal plan selection(s) does not add up to $21, a surcharge will be added up to cover the rest. You also have the option of picking up your meals at our restaurant located at 888 17th St. N.W. inside the Brawner building.

To ensure that clients never get bored, F².U.E.L cycles through a six-week menu to ensure diversity in each day's meals.

In June 2005, we will proudly unveil Premium F².U.E.L our approach to Low-Carb eating. Unfortunately, we do not have a meal plan devoted exclusively to vegetarians at this time.
